Charting Rough Seas: Essential Components of Workplace Violence Prevention Programs for Public Entities
Potential violence in the workplace is a significant concern for many public entities. Through this interactive discussion and video presentation, participants will achieve a better understanding of how to protect their organizations and their employees from a potentially violent incident in the workplace. Come learn how to establish effective prevention and response programs to help avoid workplace violence incidents, prevent potential future violence, and help mitigate the effects on the organization if an incident has already occurred.
October 16th 8:00-9:15am
Leading Change: Walking With Courage to the Edge of Possibility
To sustain and grow an organization in today’s world requires contending with the realities of fast, complex and persistent change. And, because all meaningful change starts from within, leaders who are entrusted with realizing their organization’s vision through the engagement of their teams must first look at themselves. Only by confronting the question “Who am I being?” will a leader take full responsibility for the engagement of their team, engagement that is essential if they are to break free from the status quo and courageously explore new edges of possibility. This presentation will challenge and inspire participants to consider their relationship with change and will offer a new perspective on how their leadership behaviors serve to increase or inhibit the engagement of others. You will not want to miss this plenary that begins Day 2 of the conference!
